Na Leo's new album Available Exclusively on iTunes
The Quote "Hula is the language of the heart, and therefore the heartbeat of the Hawaiian people," attributed to King David Kalakaua, captures the essence of Na Leo's latest recording as the trio returns to their original roots in Hawaiian music, presenting classic hula songs of yesteryear, along with brand-new originals.
Listeners will be transported to a simpler time and place as Na Leo is accompanied by some of the best musicians of Hawaii's past and present such as Walter Kawaiaea, Shawn Ishimoto and Aron Sala.
Several classic hula songs have been revitalized in this project: Relax in the hospitality of the Waterhouse estate on Kaua'i in Kipukai; Immerse yourself in the intoxicating scent of Pua Tuberose; Experience the vast beauty and majesty of the southernmost point of the United States as you journey along in Ka nani a'o Ka'u; Feel the power of a fathers love in the endearing composition Pua Mae'ole; smell the sea breeze and listen to the gentle call of the ocean in Pupu Hinuhinu; and hear the swish and watch the sway of cellophane skirts in our tribute to the 1940s in Do the Hula.
